COLLABORATIONS

Cutin and wax biosynthesis of Arabidopsis (Panikashvili et al. 2011) is investigated together with Asaph Aharoni, Weizmann Institute, Rehovot, Israel.

Chemical composition of cutin and waxes is analysed together with Jose Graca, Centro de Estudos Florestais, Departamento de Engenharia Florestal, Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Universidade Tecnica de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal (Santos et al. 2007).

The effect of hypergravity on elongation growth and lignin formation in Arabidopsis (Tamaoki et al. 2009) is studied together with Ichirou Karahara, Toyama University, Japan.

Interactions between leaf surface microorganisms and plant cuticles (Remus-Emsermann et al. 2011) are studied together with Johan H.J. Leveau, Plant Pathology, University of California, Davis, USA.

Casparian band formation in the endodermis and exodermis of rice roots (Ranathunge at al. 2011 ) is investigated together with Jinxing Lin, Key Laboratory of Photosynthesis and Molecular Environmental Physiology, Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing.

The effect of salt stress on rice root suberization (Krishnamurthy et. al. 2011) is studied together with Mathew. K. Mathew, National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore, India.

In collaboration with Frank Pinot, Institut de Biologie Moleculaire des Plantes, CNRS, University Strasbourg, France we are interested in the function of P450 hydroxylases involved in cutin, wax and suberin biosynthesis (Kastner et al. 2011).

Together with Jiri Santrucek, Institute of Plant Molecular Biology, Academy of Sciences, Budweis, Czech Republic the ecology of cuticular transpiration is investigated (Mackova et al. 2010).

Rice cutin biosynthesis (Shi et al. 2011) is studied together with Dabing Zhang, School of Life Science and Biotechnology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, China.
